53rd Street School, located in the Milwaukee River Watershed and city's Separated Sewer System, has been awarded a schoolyard redevelopment planning grant to develop a common vision for a greener, healthier schoolyard. The school and surrounding neighborhood community will work collaboratively with support from project partners to develop a conceptual plan to include new green spaces that manage stormwater, provide improved recreation and education opportunities, and inspire students to take care of the environment throughout 2025.
