Over $1.3 million has been raised to support green schoolyard redesign for this and four other schools in 2020.
Vincent’s conceptual redevelopment plan is unique in that the existing campus already features significant green space. The plan calls for fit trails with signage on physical fitness to complement the school’s existing stadium, soccer fields, baseball, shot-put, and other activities. The new fit trail will also be used by the surrounding community and can serve as an opportunity to take tours through the various environments and initiatives on the school’s grounds. The plan also calls for an observation deck on Milwaukee County grounds that would serve as an opportunity for students to test water quality in the Little Menomonee River. A new outdoor amphitheater would accompany green infrastructure including stormwater trees, bioswales, and native grasses. Future phases include a new barn and additional classrooms for agriculture sciences.
Review the school’s conceptual plan in greater detail, including designs, cost estimates, curricular connections, and maintenance considerations.
Vision in a Nutshell
A new walking trail would connect students to the Little Menomonee River adjacent to the school campus.

“The Vincent High School “Green Schoolyards” redevelopment project is an exceptional concept. The fact that this project centers around the different facets of exploration and is connected to education is extraordinary. The planned cultural relevant curriculum shows the forward thinking of those developing this program.”
